Colour code for bus services
The National Transport Commission has introduced a new colour
scheme to easily identify bus routes and the service level on
inter-provincial bus routes.
NTC Director General G.A.S. Ganepola said passengers find it difficult to identify the different destination boards as they were all displayed in maroon and yellow.
“Buses will be identified as belonging to one of the four categories as follows – normal in yellow; semi-luxury in blue; luxury in green and super luxury in purple. People find it confusing when having to identify the semi-luxury buses from the normal buses,” he said.
Mr. Ganepola said the bus fare would also vary according to the level of service provided.
