A national policy to reduce accidents


The Ministry of Health, as instructed by Minister Maithripala Sirisena, has prepared a national policy on accident prevention within the country. The Ministry stated that it will also extract public opinions for this purpose.

The number of casualties due to accidents is increasing daily; the Health Ministry stressed adding that around 10% of the deaths which occur in the country’s hospitals are caused by accidents.

This national policy has been prepared to avoid any harm caused to people through such accidents, the Ministry Stated.
