World champion Sebastien Loeb rounded off a superb season with victory in the British rally, finishing just over 19 seconds ahead of Petter Solberg.
The Citroen driver, who secured an unprecedented seventh consecutive world title in October, took control of the race on Saturday and extended their advantage on each of Sunday´s four stages to win by 19.1 seconds.
It was the Frenchman´s eighth victory of the season.
"It was really tough and Petter was really fast from the start doing very few mistakes," Loeb told the world rally website.
"It was a difficult battle but I took a lot of pleasure from the stages and really enjoyed this rally, which was definitely the longest battle I´ve had this season."
Citroen privateer Solberg finished second, ahead of Ford´s third-placed driver Jari-Matti Latvala but it was Latvala who took second in the overall standings, with Solberg third just two points behind.
"Getting third in the WRC is unbelievable for my whole team and our sponsors, something I always dreamed about," Solberg said.
"I haven´t seen my family a lot in the last two years because this project has taken a lot of time but they are really good to me and I love them a lot."
